Framing the Ouray Brewery

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

In the past two weeks we’ve done quite a bit of work in the Ouray Brewery. We finished demolition, architecture, engineering and plumbing in preparation for the slab. On Tuesday of last week, we put rebar and steel in the ground and poured concrete on Thursday. Framing began Monday. We are almost done downstairs.

Jeff Lockard, our brewer, has been obtaining and assembling all the components for the brewery. We have our three grundies and now two fermenters. All we need is our kettle and mash tun.

Things are looking up and we hope to have the Ouray Brewery open by June.

Ouray Brewery Equipment

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

We’ve been searching for five months now for our brewing equipment and we are finally making headway thanks to the help of our brewmaster, Jeff Lockard and Tom Hennessy from the Colorado Boy Brewery in Ridgway. Jeff found three grundies in New Mexico and Tom acquired two fermentation vessels for us from the Glenwood Brewery. Now we just have to get the equipment here. 8-)

Ouray Brewery Moving Forward

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

After a couple of weeks tearing out the old concrete we finally have put our plumbing in the ground at the Ouray Brewery and we are pouring concrete tomorrow. We’ll start framing the Ouray Brewery next week. We are hoping to open the Ouray Brewery this summer so we are moving as fast as we can. Our brewer Jeff Lockard has slowly been obtaining all of our brewing equipment from all over the United States. Jeff will be bringing all the equipment to Ouray on a trailer once he’s acquired it all. Everyone in town is excited about the Ouray Brewery coming online and another great Ouray business opening up.
